Most window manufacturers buy off-the-shelf profiles and assemble them. Mr Glass has an in-house engineering team whose only job is to improve the product — iterating on structural performance, energy efficiency, and installation precision on an ongoing basis.
The result isn’t a catalog frozen in time. It’s a product line with active Florida Product Approval revisions — some series now on their 6th or 7th revision — proof that engineering is an ongoing process, not a one-time event.
Key product approvals are on their 6th revision — each revision reflects a documented engineering improvement, not a cosmetic refresh
All U-factors, SHGC, and VLT values are obtained using NFRC approved software by NFRC approved simulators — not estimated, not approximated.
Every product series ships with downloadable CAD dynamic blocks — because engineers design to spec, not to approximation.
A separate facility for powder coating ensures consistent finish quality and corrosion resistance — not outsourced, not an afterthought.
Miami-Dade County’s High-Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) is the strictest structural building code in the United States. No other jurisdiction tests impact windows this hard. If a product passes HVHZ, it passes everywhere.
Every Mr Glass product is engineered to meet or exceed HVHZ requirements — including both the Florida Product Approval (statewide) and Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance (NOA) where applicable. These aren’t self-certifications. They’re third-party tested.
Large Missile Impact — the primary statewide structural approval for hurricane zones
Small Missile Impact — additional approval for high-rise and elevated applications
Notice of Acceptance — the county-level approval used in the toughest HVHZ jurisdiction
All energy performance data meets this independent testing standard — no self-reported values
Most manufacturers test at lenient facilities where re-dos are permitted — a product can fail, be adjusted, and retested until it passes. Mr Glass uses the most stringent testing facility in the industry: one that does not allow re-dos. You pass, or you go back to engineering.
Mr Glass tests impact windows and doors at a facility where failures cannot be retried. Industry standard labs allow multiple attempts. The difference shows in the margin between certification and actual performance.
Impact window and door products are designed and tested to the maximum achievable rating — not optimized to just clear the minimum threshold competitors use. The 9.5 → 15 PSI water test is one example; more proof points sourced directly from the engineering team.
The same laminated glass construction that stops hurricane debris also stops sound. Mr Glass’s design produces the quietest impact windows available — a byproduct of engineering for structural performance, not an add-on feature. For high-rise, urban, or airport-adjacent properties, this matters as much as wind resistance.

Mr Glass publishes full NFRC-certified energy values — U-factor, Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC), and Visible Light Transmittance (VLT) — for every glass configuration, in every product series. These values are updated regularly and available for every project specification.
Below is a sample of best-in-class configurations from the April 2026 energy report. The insulated + SB70 glass combinations show what’s possible when engineering drives glass selection.
